Technical Advisory Groups

Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) play a key role in ensuring the training products we develop reflect the needs of industry, can be implemented by training providers, and are fit for purpose across all states and territories.

What will TAGs do?

The primary role of a TAG is to provide technical advice and expertise that will inform the development of a training product, ensure training products are of high quality, and meet the workforce development needs of industry, enterprises, and individuals.

Where a training product is being developed as part of the national training system, the TAG is responsible for ensuring the product satisfies the requirements of the Training Package Organising Framework.

We will need a variety of skilled and technical experts who are able to represent the education and training requirements of the mining and automotive industries.

When will TAGs start?

Our TAGs will be stood up as needed when:

  • Projects arise from our Annual Training Product Development Plan (coming soon for 2024)

  • Urgent projects arise to address priority skills and workforce issues or to respond to emerging national priorities

  • Our Strategic Workforce Advisory Panels request a TAG to resolve a specific problem

How do I get involved?

To participate in TAGs you will need to complete an Expression of Interest in the two week period following announcement that a TAG is needed. Invitations to express interest will be distributed through:
