VET Capability explores the professional knowledge, skills and development pathways that support trainers and assessors to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across the VET sector.
Consultation consistently found that the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is where many VET careers begin, but rarely where capability development ends. Trainers and assessors in automotive and mining contexts highlighted the importance of strong teaching and assessment practices, access to train-the-trainer opportunities, confidence using digital delivery tools and ongoing professional growth throughout their careers.
This theme brings together what was heard across 4 topics and connects it to practical resources that support capability development, professional confidence and continuous learning across the VET workforce.
