The Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance (AUSMASA) is one of 10 industry-owned, industry-led Jobs and Skills Councils (JSC) funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).

Our story
Like the industries we represent, we have evolved.
2019 We started as the Mining Skills Organisation Pilot (MSOP), an Australian Government initiative. In collaboration with the Minerals Council of Australia, the MSOP aimed to enhance relationships between the VET sector and the minerals and resources industries, addressing workforce challenges and opportunities.
2021 We became the Australian Minerals and Energy Skills Alliance (AUSMESA). AUSMESA was an independent organisation funded by the Australian Government that focused on enhancing vocational education and training (VET) by engaging with the mining and energy sectors and prioritising learners in the system.
2023 AUSMESA transformed into the Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance (AUSMASA), a Jobs and Skills Council supported by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. We work with the mining and automotive industries and the education sector to ensure Australia's workforce is competitive, innovative, and adaptable.
