Technical Committee (TC) Expressions of Interest are now open across all 5 projects, providing an opportunity for industry experts, employers, trainers and other stakeholders to help shape the future of nationally recognised training products.

Reviewing entry requirements and pathway information for key electric vehicle (EV) skill sets.
As EV technologies continue to evolve, AUSMASA has launched a project to review the entry requirements and pathway information for key EV skill sets, ensuring skilled tradespeople from related industries can access EV training where they have the appropriate foundational skills and experience, while continuing to meet workforce and industry needs.
The project will review 3 skill sets:
- AURSS00037 Hybrid Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing
- AURSS00063 Battery Electric Vehicle Diagnose and Repair
- AURSS00064 Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing.
Developing nationally recognised training products for non-technical workers.
As electric vehicles (EVs) and rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS) become increasingly common across Australian workplaces, this collaborative project with Skills Insight will develop nationally recognised training products to address a critical gap in workforce safety awareness for non-technical workers.
The project will develop:
- A new unit of competency focused on EV and RESS safety awareness for non-technical workers
- A new skill set supporting safe work practices across a range of industries and workplace settings
Seeking Technical Committee (TC) expressions of interest (EOIs) with expertise in: EVs, battery technologies, workplace health and safety, manufacturing, mining, transport, motorsport, training and related industries.
Strengthening digital diagnostics, vehicle control systems and cybersecurity skills.
As vehicles and mobile equipment become increasingly connected and technology-enabled, AUSMASA is reviewing and developing training products to strengthen skills in digital diagnostics, vehicle networking, electronic control systems and cybersecurity.
The project includes:
- Develop 2 new units of competency
- Develop 1 new skill set
Seeking TC EOIs with expertise in: Digital diagnostics, electronic control systems, vehicle networking, CAN Bus technology and cybersecurity.
Reviewing and updating AUR30520.
As marine technologies continue to evolve, AUSMASA is reviewing the Certificate III in Marine Mechanical Technology to ensure training keeps pace with modern propulsion, electrical, hydraulic and digitally controlled marine systems.
The project will:
- Review the AUR30520 Certificate III in Marine Mechanical Technology
- Review key Marine units of competency
- Develop up to 3 new units of competency
- Develop 1 new skill set
Seeking TC EOIs with expertise in: Marine mechanical technology, propulsion systems, electrical and hydraulic systems, diagnostics, training and related industries.
Updating AUR30420 to address evolving agricultural machinery industry needs.
As agricultural machinery continues to evolve, AUSMASA has launched a project to review training products to ensure they reflect advances in automation, electronic control systems and other emerging technologies, while supporting greater workforce mobility across related sectors.
The project will:
- Review the AUR30420 Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology
- Review up to 21 units of competency
- Develop up to 2 new units of competency
- Consult on a proposed Agricultural Mechanical Technology specialisation within the Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
