Training Product Development

The project will review and update AUR30420 – Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology and related training products to align with emerging agricultural technologies, industry needs, and closer integration with the mobile plant sector to ensure a skilled and sustainable workforce.

Reviewing and updating AUR30420 Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology with a view to establish an Agricultural Mechanical Technology specialisation within AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology qualification.

The project responds to industry transformation driven by automation, electronic control systems and advanced technologies across the sector. The project includes national consultation to ensure training products reflect current technologies, safety standards and job roles.

This project focuses on reviewing and updating AUR30420 – Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology, along with associated units of competency, to address the evolving needs of the agricultural machinery industry. 2 new units of competency will also be developed to support emerging technologies in the sector.

In consultation with the agricultural machinery and mobile plant industries, the project will propose an Agricultural Mechanical Technology specialisation within the Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. The host qualification title may be broadened to reflect a wider machinery and plant technology scope. This aligns with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations' (DEWR's) Qualification Reform priorities.

The project commenced in July 2026 and is due for completion in September 2027.
