Career pathways and leadership explores how people enter, navigate and grow their careers in VET, and the organisational conditions that support long-term contribution and leadership.

Consultation consistently found that career pathways in VET are not always visible, well understood or actively supported. Trainers, assessors and leaders described the challenges of transitioning into VET, understanding progression opportunities and balancing increasing responsibility over time. The consultation also highlighted the importance of leadership, succession planning and recognising the contributions of experienced practitioners across the sector.
