AUSMASA is seeking feedback on the first draft of training products for Critical Control Management for Mine Site Supervisors and Managers. Your input will help ensure the qualification reflects the skills and knowledge required to maintain increasingly electrified, automated, and technologically advanced mobile plant equipment.

How to participate

Complete the survey

Review the first draft training products and answer a short set of questions. 

The draft training products include revisions to the following 5 units of competency in the RII Resource and Infrastructure Industry Training Package: 

  • RIIRIS402E Carry Out the Risk Management Process
  • RIIRIS501E Implement and Maintain Management Systems to Control Risk
  • RIIRIS601E Establish and Maintain Risk Management Systems
  • RIIWHS301E Conduct Safety and Health Investigations
  • RIICOM301E Communicate Information.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Who we are consulting with

This consultation is open to individuals who have proven experience in mine site supervision, risk and safety management or regulatory compliance. Your input will directly influence how supervisory roles are understood, trained for, and supported across the industry.

Supervisors are responsible for carrying out risk management processes and conducting safety and health investigations at an operational level. These units focus on the practical application of risk management principles and compliance with mining safety legislation in day-to-day site supervision.

Superintendents are responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and health management systems. These units focus on overseeing risk controls, monitoring hazards and ensuring risk management principles are embedded in site operations.

Managers are responsible for establishing and maintaining risk management systems at a strategic level. These units focus on leadership of safety and health management systems, mine management responsibilities and driving a culture of risk management across the organisation.
