We have partnered with Fifth Quadrant, an accredited market research agency, to undertake independent research to understand and address skill shortages facing the Australian automotive industry.
The program of research will capture feedback from a diverse range of existing and prospective future industry workers, including under-represented audiences such as:
- First Nations people
- Gen-Z
- People with disabilities and
- Women
The research program will run from June until September 2024.

Phase 1:
Measure
In June and July 2024 Fifth Quadrant conducted research to gather the perceptions of current and potential future automotive industry workers.
The results will be compiled and shared with industry in our next consultation phase.
Phase 2:
Industry Consultation
Fifth Quadrant will engage industry bodies, training providers, employers, existing workforce, careers advisors and advocacy groups, using in-depth interviews to explore their views on current skills shortages and recruitment challenges, potential solutions they have tried or would suggest, and how the Phase 1 feedback could best be used.
