Why it matters

Australia’s automotive and mining industries are in the midst of major transition, shaped by:

  • electrification and zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles
  • automation and advanced technologies
  • sustainability initiatives.

This shift is creating demand for highly skilled workers who can service and support increasingly complex equipment.

Through a national consultation process, we are collaborating with industry to ensure the qualification remains fit for purpose and prepares workers for both current and future industry needs.

This project commences in October 2025 and is due for completion in December 2026.

Expression of Interest (EOI) – Technical Committee (TC) Application

Please ensure you have read and agreed to the TC terms of reference before you express your interest.

TC members will be assessed according to the following criteria:

  • their knowledge, skills, and industry experience relevant to working with mobile plant technology.
  • previous committee/advisory panel experience.
  • capacity to commit the time required by the TC.
  • willingness to collaborate with other TC members to achieve the objectives of the project.
  • an assessment of any declared, actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.
