This project will consult with stakeholders to review and update AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology to align with the rapid changes transforming the automotive and mining industries.
The revised qualification will equip future technicians with the skills needed to maintain and service modern mobile plant, including advanced electrical systems and instrumentation.
Australia’s automotive and mining industries are in the midst of major transition, shaped by:
- electrification and zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles
- automation and advanced technologies
- sustainability initiatives.
This shift is creating demand for highly skilled workers who can service and support increasingly complex equipment.
Through a national consultation process, we are collaborating with industry to ensure the qualification remains fit for purpose and prepares workers for both current and future industry needs.
This project commences in October 2025 and is due for completion in December 2026.
