This project is a collaboration between AUSMASA and Future Skills Organisation (FSO) to develop and contextualise nationally accredited training materials that promote safe and respectful workplaces, with a focus on the mining sector. 

We will collaborate with FSO to provide input into the proposed development of a new unit of competency.

We are inviting feedback on the draft Unit of Competency and its application in the mining industry.

The Unit of Competency aligns with changes to workplace and discrimination laws, including the Fair Work Act (March 2023) and Work Health and Safety Regulations (April 2023), and will strengthen employer/employee obligations to prevent sexual harassment and to manage psychosocial hazards.

Consultation closes 3 March 2026.
